Background Information:
My primary research article is titled: DRD4 Rare Variants in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Further Evidence from a Birth Cohort Study. It is a study that was published in PLoS One by Luciana Tovo-Rodrigues, Luis A. Rohde, Ana M. B. Menezes, Guilherme V. Polanczyk, Christian Kieling, Julia P. Genro, Luciana Anselmi, and Mara H. Hutz.

About the Study:
This study looks at the dopamine receptor D4, or DRD4. DRD4 is the most studied gene pertaining to ADHD. Specifically, this study looked at mutations in the variable number tandem repeat, or VNTR, regions of the 7R allele of the DRD4 gene. 4,101 subjects had DNA samples collected and an association study was conducted. They found that all 7R rare variants had high/hyperactivity and inattention scores. These results suggest that 7R rare variants might have a contribution to the inheritance of ADHD.
